Rhythmic Sound, Music and Chants have been used from time immemorial for the purpose of Remembrance of the Divine, for expressing human joy and brings much ananda (bliss) to the heart. Torah, Vedic Text, Quran all are recited in Rhythmic intonation. Yizkor of the Jewish tradition and Zikr of the Sufi tradition are essentially based on the same principle. Sonic theology speaks of the usage of Sacred Sound in remembrance and worship of the Divine.

Honoring the Sufi tradition of usage of sacred sound for remembrance, in this site you will often come to hear a diverse variety of music, sound bites - sometime a sufi zikr, sometime bhajan, sometime qawwali, new age music, jewish or buddhist chant, indian or persian classical, instrumental or meditative music. If you can not hear any music when you visit the site, check if your volume is turned up or not. Other possibility of not hearing the music would be that you dont have the right plugin installed. I recommend to download and install Quicktime to enable sound in your browser.
