May this work be blessed, may this space be illuminated and may all who come here, whether they can take in the tremendous forceful truth that is conveyed here today (even Christ had to say, you can't understand all that I have to say, to the disciples), may come to be enlightened before their expiration from this dusty earth.

when we die, may upon our lips be the witness of reality, la ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad Rasulullah . There was, never is, and never will be any other reality apart from Allah and the Praiseworthy being is the Messenger, our own reality and potentiality to achieve praiseworthiness.

What is the need to knock on a door which has never been closed to you? The door of the Divine Father is already open and awaiting for you to receive you. No need to knock, to ask. What is the need to ask the All Mighty, All Seeing, All Pervading? He already knows you. For you to ask Him means to not be happy with what He has gifted you with, to not appreciate what you have got - your precious life, the beautiful moment Now and Here, The Divine Breath within and without you. The asking itself becomes a hindrance between you and your Lord. When you are in total love and surrender to Him there is no question of any desiring, any asking, any seeking, any knocking. Because This Is It! You have got it, you are it! Just wake up, see it, be aware of it!

In the Divine Reality no asking can be true or untrue, no asking can be at all! Only gratefulness is flourishing in the Kingdom of God, only Love and Compassion, only overflowing Bliss and Ecstasy. And Sufi mystics are the ones who know it. As Rumi said it so true:

"I have lived on the lip of insanity

Wanting to know reasons

Knocking on a door, it opens

I have been knocking from the inside!"

many thanks for this beautiful post on the parable/symbols of asking, seeking and knocking on the door.( here i realise i would need to put a capital letter at the beginning of the word Door). I loved reading the poem by Rumi: Rumi is known here in the West mainly for his love poetry but not for much else, and its about time we learned that his poetry is not about human love but Divine Love.thank you for that: it broadens and lightens the horizons of those who seek, and are in love with the Master Jesus.
I also learned quite a lot about the Sufi Shhaykh Muhammad al-Jamal, such a beautiful teacher, and person, may he be blessed.
you are right: for those who seek, the Doors will be open. this parable tells us a moral to be less materialistic, and to stop chasing the goals of the rat race, and instead to begin to look deep into ourselves:
maybe you could explain the meaning of the word "Exegesis": it comes from a Greek word and it means an interpretation or a leading out of a religious text, and has the same root as the word Exodus : leading out of the desert.

( the Israelites were led out of Egypt, and Exodus is the Second Book in the Torah and the Christian Bible).
