Listen!
Do
not
let your time
pass idly.
Either keep a rosary with you and do japa, or if this does not suit you, at least go on repeating the Name of the Lord regularly and without interruption like the ticking of a clock. There are no rules or restrictions in this. Invoke Him by the Name that appeals to you most, for as much time as you can - the longer the better. Even if you get tired or lose interest, administer the Name to yourself like a medicine that has to be taken.
In this way you will, at some auspicious moment, discover the rosary of the mind, and then you will continually hear within yourself the praises of the great Master, the Lord of Creation, like the never ceasing music of the boundless ocean. You will hear the land and the sea, the air and the heavens reverberate with the song of His glory. This is called the all-pervading Presence of His Name.

Dear Sadiq,
Thank you very much for this brief, though powerful, post.
Kindest wishes,
mo'in
JazakAllahu Khair for this post brother, very valuable and inspiring thoughts appreciate it a lot,May Allah inspire us to always remember His beautiful names with our tongue and heart both...
Sadiq,
This is a beautiful post. I love Ananadamaya Ma's quote.
I just finished a book "Chants of a Lifetime" by Krishna Das, and in it he writes:
"Each and every repetition of the Name is like a seed that gets caught up by the wind and comes to rest on the roof of an old house. Then, over the course of time and with the passage of seasons, the conditions become good for the seeds to take root. They grow and grow until finally they destroy the roof of the house (ego)."
In the book, there is also a quote from Ramakrishna:
"Each and every revealed Nmae of the One Reality possesses irresistibly sanctifying power. Even if the energy of the Divine Name does not produce immediate results, its repetition will eventually be fruitful -- like a seed fallen on the roof of a deserted house, which crumbles over decades, finally enabling the germinated seed to take root. The conventional world and the conventional self are this disintegrating old structure."
Om Shanti Om,
radha
Sidi Sadiq,
A very elegant " music " of the Universe you have posted :
"...like the never ceasing music of the boundless ocean.. hear the land and the sea, the air and the heavens, reveberate with the song of His Glory..."
It reminds me of Deepak Chopra's expressions :
"...the rythem of the Universe
is the rythem of Love..."

Thus the Divine voice whispers: Your calling My Name is My reply. Your longing for Me is My message to you. All your attempts to reach Me are in reality attempts to reach you. Your fear and love are perfumes to attract Me. In the silence surrounding every call of “Allah” await a thousand replies of “Here I Am.” ~ Rumi
Dear Br Sadiq,
I dont know why, somehow, the words and posts in your blogs tend to somehow answer my cries, my restlessness.

Salam Sadiq bhai,

Dear Mo'in,
Alhamdulillah.
Dear Akram,

Dear Radha,
Beautiful seed of beauty and wisdom shared by Krishna Das and Sri Ramakrishna. Thank you.
Dear Sidi Abnizar,
Jazakallah Khair Sidi.
Dear sister NJ,
Indeed all that is in the heaven and earth glorifies the Real Being. And what you mentioned is also an glorification and witnessing that it is the Divine Breath that guide us where His Signs are left for us to see. May Allah turn all your cries and restlessness into means to be close to Him and may your heart find true peace, abide in true serenity.
Dear AbiDamia,
They are spontaneous part of one reality which is wholeness. Just like in a circle there is no beginning and there is no end, every point is both the first and last and neither - similarly syahadah is witnessing what is Real, musyahadah is enter into the practice to prepare the vessel to be a perfect witness and dua is what comes from within us when we attune to the Real.
On another level, dua (supplication) comes from every living being, its universal. Even a bird when trapped in hunters net make dua to its Creator. Syahada, the Witnessing that there is but One God, Reality is One - is witnessed by all particles in the universe. Man who is given freewill and his consciousness is veiled unless unveiled has the ability either to profess it or to cover or deny it. So for man syahadah must be renewed. Musyahadah happens when one abide in syahadah, it is like baqa, subsisting in God by witnessing God in the beginning and in the end of every phenomena.
may Allah increase our iman, islam and ihsan. faith, surrender and going beyond towards perfection.
ameen,
