The Necessity and Function of the Shaykh | Sohbet from 5 Sundays on Tasawwuf

Ya Ayyuhalladheen Aamanu Ittaqullaha Wa Kunu Ma'a As-Saadiqeen

O you who believe, be conscious of Allah and keep company with those who are true to their word.
- The Quran, 9:119

Beginning November 8, and continuing through Dec, Jan, Feb and March Islamic Sufi Study Center of Charlottesville is Organizing a Program titled, 5 Sundays of Tasawwuf. This monthly program address the elements of Tasawwuf, spiritual Islamic practice.

Themes selected for 5 Sundays are:
1) The necessity and function of the Shaykh
2) Sohbet or the oral tradition
3) Ikhlas or sincerity
4) Tarbiyya or the training of the mureed
5) Dhaahir & baatin - balancing the inner and the outer

The program includes speakers: Shaykh Ahmed Abdur-Rasheed, mainly of the Naqshabandi tradition; Shaykh Nooruddeen Durkee, mainly of the Shadhdhuli tradition; and for the first Sunday it was Dr. Sulayman Nyang, distinguished professor from Howard University who delivered the talks.

In the first series, the speakers touched upon a main characteristic of Sufi path, that is, "The Necessity and Function of the Shaykh". Its highly recommended for anyone even modestly interested to understand the Path of Sufism from those who walk the Path - to listen to these talks. These talks come from those who have spent their lifetime in this rich and living tradition and few of the most rare individuals of our time who literally have crossed the earth, traveled to the farthest of geographical boundaries to find their path, their Murshid (spiritual guide) and to find truth. May Allah continue to bless Shaykh Nooruddeen Durkee and Shaykh Abdur-Rasheed and all guest speakers in this event for their pure dedication and service to the path and have mercy upon those who come in their presence.

'Wa hadaina humma siratal mustaqim' Allah says, "And We guided them to the Straight Way." After the seed of blessing has fallen on the fertile soil of the heart by the grace of Allah Subhanuwatala one must not let it wither. Rather one must place that seed in the grace, in the care, that is to say of a farmer who will protect it from the many ways that it can be destroyed. In the care of that farmer, the seed will mature and bear fruit and accord with its true being. This verse that I recited in the beginning refers to that type of care, "And We guided them to the Straight Way."

Rumi says, "In the Ocean of the Soul it is impossible to swim and you may drown. The only solution is to get on the Ship of Safety." So the Seal of the Prophet, sallalahu 'alaihi wa sallam declared, "I am that Arc in the Infinite Ocean, as are those who are my successors who share my vision. We are the Ship of Safety in this Ocean. Do not try to swim away."

And Hafiz says, "In the Domain of Love do not take even a step without a guide. For on this road, he who has no guide will lose the way for sure."

.. To take guidance there are 3 steps which a person must undertake: The first which Sayyidina Musa (Prophet Moses) took which is to put everything else behind you with the intention to find the truth, knowing you don't know the truth. Because if you know the truth, why would you be seeking it?

The second is to go where ever you have to go. And do whatever you have to do and where ever you have to go to find the truth.

And the third step we call sohbet, which means to enter into the company of someone who for whatever reason that you can imagine or think, might be, might be, in touch with the truth that you are seeking.

Another poem from Rumi from Mathnawi, Inshallah, the translation,

Those spiritual window shoppers who idly ask
'How much is that?'
And then when you ask them they say, 'Oh I'm just looking.'
They handle a hundred items and put them all down.
They are shadows, with no capital.

What is spent is Love
and two eyes that are wet with weeping.

But these they walk into the shop
and their whole life pass in that moment in that shop"

".. likely in America we have radical individualism. Many of us are so radically individual, - "Me too ism" as well call in America. .. so if you have that attitude, you will not have a Shaykh, because you have this "Me too ism", 'Ya I'm educated, So I can think for myself' - if you do that you make a big mistake. The second of these series are coming on 6th December 2009. This will focus on the 2nd theme, Sohbet or the oral tradition: discourses on the value of spending time with a living teacher – sharing life, food, companionship with the Shaykh and other students - learning directly from the tongue of the Shaykh rather than from books or CDs – discourse and storytelling as media of teaching. Along with Shaykh Nooruddeen and Shaykh Rasheed, guest speaker will be Dr. Mustafa Drame, professor of French Language and African Oral Traditions at the University of Virginia.

If you are around the East Coast or even in USA, you are recommended to be blessed to be among these Shuyukh from sufi traditions and listen directly from them in the coming Sundays. Dear AV,
What you wrote in the last comment and before is not correct, but I am not going to spend my time to refute everything line by line, even though they can be refuted word by word.

Everyone is gifted with freewill to believe, act and create their own worldview as they wish to. So anybody is free to take any position they wish. And it applies to you as well. But for the sake of preserving sanctity, I am going to delete few comments here in and probably will disable comments in past and future posts selectively when and where it seems necessary.

Thank you and peace be with you.

Aliya,
Appreciate your comment, but unfortunately it had unnecessary mentioning of another visitor's pen name in it which was provocative (not all of us same level of patience). So hope you understand my deleting it.

Dear Sadiq,

I don’t have a problem with you deleting comments because it is your blog. However, when James and Aliya start denigrating mullahs and madressas, I hope you will apply the same rigorous standards as you applied to my posts. I believe they have sinister motives when they attack the sacred Islamic institutions like the madressas and the offices of mullahs.

If some people found it offensive when I wrote, “Mullah’s work will not be done until every Sufi shrine lies in ruins from East to West and North to South". I find it offensive when people denigrate the mullahs and the madressas but you allow it.

What is your definition of a Mullah and an Authentic Sufi Sheikh?

Sadiq,

Why should Sufi Sheikhs be honored but madressas and Mullahs (like the four Imams, the twelve Imams, Ulemas, Ayatollahs, Khomeini, Maudoodi, Bana, Sheikh Yasin, Qutub and others) be denigrated? What is so Islamic about it?

I don’t know for how long Dr. Sulayman Nyang lived in America, but he missed the fact that we Americans like to have options too. He is giving us only one option: Surrender to a Sheikh. There is another option that is not to surrender to a sheikh at all, but do it yourself and let Allah be the Ultimate Guide. Neither he nor any other great sheikh of the past, present, and future can contradict this statement: Allah is the Ultimate Guide. Allah guides whom He wills.

Dr. Nyang is absolutely correct when he states “in America we have radical individualism”. Some seekers on the Authentic Sufi Path (ASP) are believer in “radical monotheism”. Surrendering to a sheikh is a form of shirk. I guess Dr. Nyang has correct understanding of the Americans rugged individualism, but it seems to me he needs to meditate on Surah Ikhlas. I am not sure about his understanding of Surah Ikhlas.

AV believes in “radical individualism” and “radical monotheism”.

Everything about the necessity of surrendering to sheikh is negated by the verse below.

Say: “Allah’s guidance Is the (only) guidance, And we have been directed To submit
ourselves To the Lord of the Worlds. (Qur’an 6:71). (1).

Allah is the Sheikh of those who have no sheikh or don’t wish to surrender to a sheikh. AV

Some of the sheikhs contradict themselves. Rumi was a man of contradictions.

“The One who guided you this far
will lead you farther on as well”.
Rumi (2, p. 257).

AV has placed his trust in the One that has guided
him to the Authentic Sufi Path. That Invisible Force
is still guiding him. That Invisible Force is the
Guide for all.

“Talk about the Beloved morning and evening
Look out for the Beloved at twilight and dawn.
Even though they tell you a hundred times:
“No one has see the One”, keep on
until its vision illuminates you.
You’ll find the Beloved located
where even Gabriel can’t go.
Love is the path, the ration, and the goal”.
Persian Sufi Ahmad Hatif (2, pp. 256-257).

Allow AV to add; Don’t forget to bring sincere heart,
sincere longing, pure intentions, pure motives, purity of the heart,
and sound heart on the journey to the Path of the Beloved.
Without these, you might as well stay home.

Listen to Kabir. He is not talking about surrendering to a sheikh here.

“You sense that there is some sort of spirit that loves birds and animals and ants-
Perhaps the same one who gave a radiance to you in your mother’s womb.
Is it logical you would be walking around entirely orphaned now?” (3, 240).

AV says, there are two options. You can go alone knowing that Allah is the Guide.
Self-reliance is happiness. Say: Ya-Hadi. He will be there to guide you. O You,
of little faith! Put your faith and trust in the Creator, not in the created.

Of course, Allah is Merciful. If a seeker feels he needs the support of a sheikh, let him surrender to a sheikh.

There are two options. AV chose the option less taken. That’s all been the difference.
Let the seekers decide. There is no compulsion in religion. Why should there be compulsion in surrendering to a sheikh? Whatever happened to there are as many paths to the Beloved as there are souls?

You are telling me that the Beloved created you, He is sustaining you, He is protecting you, but he will not guide you. How can that be? What happened to His Love and Guidance?

AV,
You keep throwing lies after lies into this religious meeting point.
I have never denigrated Islam, but you definitely did. You have been permanently throwing mud on prophet Mohammed and his holy teaching as well as on the truly surrendered to Allah muslims.
By showing off your being a fanatic "muslim", actually you showed to us an obvious contradiction in terms. Fanatic cannot be a muslim, because a muslim stands for ultimate surrendering to Allah and total acceptance and love for His Creation. In the same time a fanatic like you denies and denigrates everything which is not his own mind invention. Fanatic is enclosed in his narrow mind and sees only its own mind projections and illusions; fanatic definitely refuses to see and appreciate the vast Creation of Allah.
Your intolerance, violent and cunning speech full of lies, accusations, mental deviations, have nothing to do and are absolutely contradictory to the compassionate and full of deep understanding of human soul words of the Prophet Mohammed. True religiousness is in a loving heart like in the heart of Mohammed, Jesus, Buddha. People like you full of hatred and abhorrence to human beings are not and can never be religious, muslims, despite of their loud shouting and parrot like repeating of Quranic verses. Quran is in a loving heart and not at the tip of your malicious tongue.

Aliya said...

Dear Sadiq,
I understand your deleting my comments. People like AV, always ready to jump on your throat with a knife, are many in a muslim country. Unfortunately for the human kind,so called "religious leaders" have shown much irresponsibility, intolerance and hatred against human beings in their speeches and each moment keep fomenting enmity and aggression amongst muslims, misusing in the most unforgivable way people's fears and ignorance.

Aliya said...

I would love to repeat my sincere appreciation for the Sufi sheikhs Sadiq brought to our attention in his post. Even though my beautiful words of appreciation have been once deleted by Sadiq, I insist on repeating my admiration for the insightful and soul penetrating way Sufi sheikhs share their divine wisdom with Allah disciples and devotees. That is the authentic way of each true religious leader - to share his luminous being, to share his love for the One through the way of the heart - from one loving heart the flame is transmitted to another loving heart. As one candle is enough to share its flame with many candles, the same way one enlightened soul of Allah devotee can transmit the light of endless love of the One to many other souls. That was the way of Prophet Mohammed and this way is preserved and followed by Sufi sheikhs.
It is not possible to reach Allah by spreading hatred and violence, Allah can be reached only through love and compassion. And that is the way Sufi sheikhs teach.

Thank you, Silent Observer, for your honesty and bravery to reveal the Truth: Muslims are not destroyers of people and their shrines.
People like AV are a shame for Islam and true religiousness.
What however puzzles me is the lack of firm disapproval and opposition to AV's antihuman threatenings to murder and ruin human beings. Many are the visitors of this blog but almost none opposed the language of hatred and loathing of AV, even some like njz tried to protect and support his violence. Does their silence mean they carry the same load of enmity, aggression and detest against the Creation of the One? Or they just do not think people's aggression is worth bothering? What if somebody bombed a train or a country? It is not yet we who have been harmed... What about the One whose heart has been bleeding???

Dear Sadiq Bhai,

Salaam and adab to you and your Sheikh.

I take absolutely full responsibility for the latest post about in the praise of Mullahs. Who are the mullahs? The First Mullah was Muhammad (pbuh). The first madressa was built by The First Mullah where The First Mullah and Jibril taught Islam to the talibs.

The four Caliphs are mullahs. The four Imams are mullahs. The twelve Imams are mullahs. Imam Khomeini, Maudoodi, Bana, Qutub, SheikhYasin, Imam Wahhab, and many others like them are mullahs. They are the ulemas. They are the guardians of Islam. They are the ones who have suffered much for the cause of Islam. Some of the Sufis Sheikhs neither enjoy much nor suffer much. All they do is just write love poems. Sometime one wonders if they are writing it for their male friends.

The local mullahs at the mosques are the most dedicated to the Path of Muhammad. They are the most kindest and generous of humanity who give much to the community. Service to the community is their dhiker. They give much but receive very little. While sheikhs sit in comfort of their khanaqas write love poems, these mullahs are out there in community serving others. Winds, hot, cold, rain, snow, and storms do not stop them from serving their respective communities.

I am not divisive. The two Westerners, James and Aliya, are the ones who are adding fuel to the fire of hate, bigotry, and religious intolerance. They are the classic Western schemers who constantly want to divide and sow the seed of divisiveness in the Muslims community. They talk much about adab, chivalry, and tolerance but all that rings hallow with me. They are the master of duplicity and hypocrisy. Their hearts are sealed to the message of Islam. They are the enemies of Islam. Insincerity, evil intentions, and evil motives are their three daily breads.

What purpose is served when they attack the most sacred institution of Islam: madressa?
What purpose is served when they attack the imams, mullahs, ulemas, and ayatollahs?
What purpose is served when they denigrate the madressa and mullahs?

“Mullah’s work will not be done until every Sufi shrine lies in ruins from East to West and North to South". Yes, if the Authentic Sufis tolerate and condone writings of these so called non-authentic sufis like James and Aliya, then Sufism is nothing but cancer in Islam. This cancer must be removed from Islam. Islam must be cleansed from this cancerous Sufism. The only people I trust with this task are the Imams, the Mullahs, the
Ulemas, Ayatollahs, and my Salafis brothers and sisters. As for the some of the Sufis Sheikhs, they have dubious commitment to Islam. I doubt their intentions, motives, and sincerity.

I don’t have problem when Aliya and James attack me. However, when they attack mullahs, I believe they have broader sinister motives. Sometime I feel like they are being paid by someone to engage in these kinds of attacks on main stream Muslims. The only purpose of these attacks is to sow hate among Muslims and divide them. There will never, never, never again be another Lawrence of Arabia nor East India Company.

James and Aliya need to take full responsibility too.

Please see below for continuation.

Please read the more about the role of a mullah in the Islamic faith.

“Mullah/Mula/Molla (Persian: ملا, Judeo-Persian/Bukhori: מולא) is generally used to refer to a Muslim man, educated in Islamic theology and sacred law. The title, given to some Islamic clergy, is derived from the Arabic word mawla, meaning "vicar", "master" and "guardian". In large parts of the Muslim world, particularly Iran, Bosnia, Afghanistan, Turkey, Central Asia and the Indian subcontinent, it is the name commonly given to local Islamic clerics or mosque leaders.[1]

The title has also been used in some Jewish communities to refer to the community's leadership, especially religious leadership.[2]

It is primarily understood in the Muslim world as a term of respect for a religiously educated man.[3]

Ideally, a trained mullah will have studied Islamic traditions (hadith), and Islamic law (fiqh). They are often hafiz, i.e. have memorized the Qur'an. However, uneducated villagers often recognize a literate Muslim with a less than complete Islamic training as their "mullah" or religious cleric. Mullahs with varying levels of training lead prayers in mosques, deliver religious sermons, and perform religious ceremonies such as birth rites and funeral services. They also often teach in a type of Islamic school known as a madrasah. This triumvirate of knowledge is applied mostly in interpreting Islamic texts (i.e. the Quran, Hadiths, etc.) for matters of Shariah, i.e. Islamic law.

The term is most often applied to Shi'ite clerics, as Shi'a Islam is the predominant tradition in Iran. However, the term is very common in Urdu, spoken throughout Pakistan, and it is used throughout the Indian subcontinent for any Muslim clergy, Sunni or Shi'a. Muslim clergy in Russia and other former Soviet Republics are also referred to as mullahs, regardless of whether they are Sunni or Shi'a.

It has been used among Persian Jews, Bukharan Jews, Afghani Jews and other Central Asian Jews to refer to the community's religious and/or secular leadership.

The term is seldom used in Arabic-speaking areas, where its nearest equivalent is shaykh (implying formal Islamic training), imam (prayer leader; not to be confused with the Imams of the Shiite world), or `ālim (plural `ūlamā') (scholar; see ulema). In the Sunni world, the concept of "cleric" is of limited usefulness, as authority in the religious system is relatively decentralized.

The term is frequently used in English, although English-speaking Muslim clergy rarely call themselves mullahs. It was adopted from Urdu by the British rulers of India and subsequently came into more widespread use.

Mullahs have frequently been involved in politics, but only recently have they actually taken power. Islamists seized power in Iran in 1979, and later, in Afghanistan under the Taliban.

The above was taken: From Wikipedia.

Responding to last comment:

“Mullah/Mula/Molla (Persian: ملا, Judeo-Persian/Bukhori: מולא) is generally used to refer to a Muslim man, educated in Islamic theology and sacred law.

By that very definition, Prophet Muhammad, upon him be peace can not be called a Mullah. Mullah is educated, Prophet was illiterate (ummi), he was not a theologian, but a beloved of Allah, Habib 'Allah.

So pls dont bring down the status of Prophet. The Nabi ul Ummi, the unlettered prophet's status as unlettered has very mystical significance because true gnosis of God can not be obtained by learning at school (or madrassa as you delude yourself thinking), but by qalbil salim (a pure heart).

Why you are you so bothered with definition?

If you had intelligence enough (and may God give you more and protect our intellect as well), you would notice the Sign (Quranic ayah) of Sadiq which began this post. And you would know, God is speaking directly about people who are true to their word, Sadiqeen. God is not talking about label of Mullah, Shaykh or whatever you want, because all it matter is those who embody the truth and speak the truth - not what label ppl ascribe to them or what role they perform.

Av, contemplate more, speak less - if you really wish to gain better understanding. You seem to be so full of talk and you should know by now that those who are so full of themselves are in reality hollow.

the Prophet reminds us, "The widest door to Beloved's Presence, that is the Paradise - is humility. But this is also the lowest door - so those who enter must enter with their head bowed down, with their self lowered in utter humility."

when are you going to learn humility AV and not be so arrogant?

pls pay attention and use whatever breath you have left to improve your condition (rather than going around picking faults in other and criticizing other unnecessarily while forgetting your own shortcomings).

Allahu Alim
God is the All Knower and He knows your heart, so be ashamed to face your Lord when who other said what will matter little, but what you carry will matter everything.

Dont run after label, definition, long sentences, lengthy discourses that you give in every opportunity.

Dont carry any malice towards your fellow human beings, no matter what. Else you are ruining your heart's sanctity.

Sadiq,

I am not going to engaged in play on words with you because it is not necessary. However, I would say that Mullah also means a leader. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was a leader of the Muslim community. Muhammad was a Prophet. He was the leader of the community, a statesman, and defender of the faith. Mullahs, the Imams, and the Ulemas provide some of these services which were provided by the Prophet. It does not make them the Prophet nor I am making them into the Prophet You are trying to push the hot button issue. All of sudden you have discover the Prophet and now you want to wrap yourself in the Prophet’s mantle.

You Sufis endlessly repeat your heart is a kabba; it is a temple; it is a church, and love is your religion. You Sufis have respect for every kind of religion; however, you hate and despise the ulemas, the mullahs, and the imams. You sufis never get tired denigrating the madressas and the mullahs.

When this below quote appeared on your blog, did you speak? Why not?

“No until every MOSQUE beneath the sun lies ruined, will our holy work be done…”
--Abu Sa’id ibn Abi al-Khayr.

What is a MOSQUE? Doesn’t this include the three holiest places of Islam?

Did you speak when James Soutter posted this: “…that's why the prayers that are offered in the 'Great Mosque' (in the religion of an absent, empty, invented "God") are never answered, whilst those in the Sufi's takkia.”

This above quote is denigration of the hajj and the mosque in Mecca. Why did you not speak? Were you afraid that you were going to loose your Western audience?

When I left the below post to James, he never responded. This is a classic sufi approach. The sufi either becomes silent or will say, “well it has different layers of meanings.”

“Why then Sufis Sheikhs still go to the Great Mosque? Mansur Hallaj even went to the Great Mosque three times. “Upon completing a third pilgrimage to Mecca, Hallaj returned to Baghdad, where he bought a house and decided to settle”. (1, p. 175). Why? I guess these sheikhs are keeping some “Divine Secrets” to themselves!”

All hell broke loose because I stated,“Mullah’s work will not be done until every Sufi shrine lies in ruins from East to West and North to South". However, you were silent when the Great Mosque was denigrated, hajj was denigrated, mullahs were denigrated, and madressas were denigrated. I wish you had spoken then as you are speaking now.

Tell me. Do you want to protect the Sufis’ Shrines or do you want to preserve and protect the three holies shrines of Islam? You know where I stand, but I like to know where you stand.

The Prophet is not such shallow figure that I can bring down his status. When everything fails, try bringing the hot button issue that somehow I am lowering the Prophet’s status. The people who denigrate the Prophet are those so called Sufis who mock the institutions he left us. You are quick to defend these so called Sufis so you can be called the most tolerant, enlighten being. It maybe flattering, but you are paying a very high price for it. You are defending people who attack the sacred institution of Islam which are the legacy of the Prophet.

Please answer these questions for me. These are issues that deal with adab and chivalry.

2. What purpose is served when they attack the most sacred institution of Islam: madressa?
3. What purpose is served when they attack the imams, mullahs, ulemas, and ayatollahs?
4. What purpose is served when they denigrate the madressa and mullahs?

Few verses from Quran to contemplate (for those who often engage in vain conversation, engage with others just to show off and the kind you will find in different internet forums including here trying to be 'holier than thou')

and at the same time these verses are glad tidings for them who preserve much silence (even when they know much but modest before their Lord) and shun vain conversation:

Successful indeed are the mu'minun believers,

Who are active in deeds of charity;

AV,
You again flooded us with words after words after words...
Islam, the surrendering to Allah, is not in words, it is in the depth of your heart. For you mullahs, madrassaat, Quran, Mohammed are only words to fight with in a religious blog. You use words for fighting people, not for singing your love, devotion and surrendering to the One. You use your mind like a dustbin to throw in empty words (empty for you), or better say it as a bomb depot to collect in bombs for murdering other human beings.
A mind which has no connection with its heart becomes just a meaningless storage of all kind of jerk, for sure goes berserk, splits its personnality and ends by needing a treatment for mental sickness. Thank you for providing us with your good example of uncontrolled and separated from reality mind.
And please, do not play the role of the only representative of mullahs, madrassats, Easterners, because you are not at all a surrendered to Allah muslim. The only thing you have ever surrendered to is your own inflated mind illusion.

Silent Observer,

“Few verses…”

Why don’t you get a grip on reality? In one’s life, many kinds of circumstances arise. One has to be prepared to deal with each circumstance accordingly. There is time to be silent, and there are times to speak-up. There are times to speak softly, and there are times to holler. There are times to use carrot, and there are times to use stick.

There is a time for peace; there is a time for war.
There is a time to bless; there is a time to curse.
There is a time to agree; there is a time to argue.
There is a time to heal; there is a time to injure or retaliate.
There is a time to love; there is a time to hate.
There is a time to be friend; there is a time to become an enemy.
There is a time to be a Saint; there is a time to be a Warrior.
There is a time to forgive; there is a time to seek justice.
There is time for everything under the sun so get a grip on reality.
If too much talking is not good, too much silence is not good either.
Try your best to take the middle ground.
Be a man/woman for all seasons!

Maybe you should change your name from Silent Observer to Pollyanna.

For AV time is always for war. Because AV is nothing but a big inflated ego and ego is simply an illusion of the mind. The mind of AV has created his ego as a big balloon, flying above the people and shouting loudly: "See me, how special I am, how superior to you I am!"
Ego knows perfectly well its own falsity, that it is only an illusion, non existential. It makes ego always feeling threatened by others, scared that somebody may reveal the truth of its non existence. That makes ego very aggressive and always ready for war, ready to fight other people.
Poor AV, he does not really know what the final destiny of all balloons is.

James,

Satanic label is up to you. If you want to call yourself a Satan, I don't have a problem with it because you know yourself better than anybody else. I will call you Satan, if you liked to be called Satan.

For AV time is always for war and ugly labeling of innocent people. He calls people Satan, but he always misses to notice his own satanic ego creation.
Moreover, AV is obsessed with funny things like for instance having the last words.

AV, being the last one to comment on a topic does not in any case make you more right or true. First or last your ego is always as false and illusory as it is bound to be. There is no need for you to always try to inflate it. It is your own bondage, your own biggest enemy. You cannot deceive other people with your ego showiness off.

James,

“hallow or hollow”

You are the off-the-wall here. You are reading too much into a typo.

AV,

You are none, neither "hallow nor hollow", you are simply obsessed to have written last in each blog topic. You are obsessed with containers, AV, with outer forms, you are not interested in content, not is essence. The same way Quran reciting is for you just another external form of personal showiness, you try to reduce Quran to a mere container of your inflated ego. Where is your essence, your content in it, AV?
