Awakening | Kenza Saadi

AwakeningI walked, and I walked. I studied all the books. I listened to all the eminences. I went far away and beyond. I kept looking at the sky hoping to get an answer. I went to almost every place of worship and heard almost every prayer and hymn. I asked all the questions my imagination could come up with, and received all the imaginable answers.

One day, tired and my shoes all used up I stopped. I sat on a stone on the edge of the town I had just happened to visit.

I just sat there. Simply breathing. The sun moved across the sky and clouds shape-shifted in silence. A small worm slid passed my foot heading towards a fallen leaf.

Suddenly, like a soft breeze following a thunderstorm, I felt His laughter and I heard His gentle scolding: “Wake up!”
