1."Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek." - Barack Obama
"This is our chance to answer that call. This is our moment. This is our time ... to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American Dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth - that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we can't, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people: Yes We Can.
Thank you, God bless you, and may God Bless the United States of America."- Barack Obama, President Elect, United States of America from his victory speech, November 4, 2008

From the point of view of collective psyche of American people, Barack H. Obama is such an interesting candidate for America, specially in this time. He just as one person holds and answers few really interesting facets what surfaced in the past few years. Its almost mythical and seems like a grand scale humor. His name sounds so close to a name (Osama) which became symbol of fear in the mass marketing of (t)errorism by previous president and co. Yet Obama's whole message was hope, the opposite archetype of fear. He then carries the name 'Hussein' as his middle name which was also used in the same shadow (t)errorism drama related to Saddam Hussein - another archenemy of this country.
This very middle name again was used to spread false fear mixed with misinformation during the election, thanks God which didn't prove effective. Then the third thing many see as redemption of the slave era, all the injustice done against people of color. Another point is the fact that his father was an immigrant from Africa and here he is in the most powerful office not only in America but arguably in the World. Who would have imagined the son of an immigrant from Africa would be ruling the most powerful country. Not only an african american, but the son of a first non-christian is in the office in a country where phobia around religious identity was made such an issue. A tv commentator commented, Obama is a child representing from both those who were enslaved (his african father) and those who slaved them (his white mother). So many interesting pieces he alone embody. His genuine brightness, extra ordinary charisma and the ability to inspire so many is truly fascinating. A powerful clairvoyant I came across few months back who commented much earlier in the primary race that Barack Obama carries the spirit of Abraham Lincoln (she used the term 'reincarnation' or come back of spirit in a new body) and everything will favor him to win this election. His mature eloquence, wisdom and heavily favored unthinkable quick rise is a fulfillment of previous karma - mentioned the clairvoyant woman. Didn't everything just favored him against all odds? What could be more timely that the current financial crisis alone just in time that helped so much in favor of him!

Barack Obama's first name is also very interesting. Barack comes from Baraka means blessing in many languages.
Barakah has Arabic origins meaning spiritual wisdom and blessing transmitted from the Divine.
Barakah (or Baraka) is a term referring to a sense of divine presence, charisma, wisdom, and/or blessing transmitted from spiritual master to pupil. It can refer to "breath", or "breath of life" (Qi / prana), but is more often associated with a place or person. It is also a Sufi term referring to a sense of "divine presence" or "charisma."
Baraka is also used in contemporary French as a synonym of "luck". A person who has the "baraka" can emerge unscathed from the most dangerous situation.
It also has Hebrew and Jewish origin. In Judaism, a Berakhah or Bracho (Hebrew = Berakhot) is a blessing, usually recited at a specific moment during a ceremony or other activity. Berakhot traditionally start with the words Barukh attah, Adonai Eloheinu, melekh ha-olam, … ("Blessed are you, Lord our God, King of the universe, …").
"Berkah" is the Indonesian word derived from Barakah. It means a great blessing or a great favourable gift (especially from God).
Baraka is the Swahili word for blessing ("Haraka haraka haina baraka" - "Hurry hurry has no blessing.")
In esoteric Islam / Sufism the word Barakah has a very profound meaning connected with the idea of Shekinah. The great human beings, the master teachers all had the gift of Barakah which they could give to others, which they transmit through their presence, teachings and even beyond the veil (barzakh). Barakah that comes through true human beings, God realized beings is the connection and flowing river between the Heaven and Earth.
The only reason certain place is called holy place is because of its transmission of barakah or divine blessing. The living teacher and their presence is also considered a source of Baraka and thus those who are fortunate enough to sit with, receive the blessings as well. Many sacred sites and tombs of saints are visited because of its magnetism and transmission of Baraka or special blessing. The saints are given the grace by the Most High to transmit barakah even after their death and often time thus they appear to their devotees or students in true dreams to guide or to simply bless.
