Not my will, but Thine, be done

prayer
Originally uploaded by najme.
If He wants separation, and I want union,
I must give up what I want to fulfill His wishes.

The experience of separation kindles the fires of longing.
Longing to go Home,
longing to be in the company of friends,
longing to bask in His light and Know what is Real....to know no fear, our place, who we are and why we are here...

I surrender all this and every breath to His Will.
There is nothing more important than loving each other
and surrendering our petty will to His.

He is the One who gives us breath. We belong to Him and He has every right to do with us as He wills.

:: Note: Not my will, but Thine, be done is a very famous prayer of Jesus (peace) which symbolizes the 'surrender to Divine Will' (interestingly, which in arabic means Islam). Watch this video on
salvation as well.

  1. The picture is muslim women praying inside a mosque. The position shown in the picture is called 'bowing'. it is just before going to prostration, the most humble way of the physical aspect of surrender in prayer.
