I was walking through the corridor and came across this title in a poster posted by catholic society of our university on christmas occasion. The name really struck me. Its so beautiful : Christ Actually. The name and the color they used (red and white) was most probably inspired by the movie, Love Actually.
The name reminded me how little we know about the actual teachings and the true face of Jesus Christ. And at the same time, so much misunderstandaing and wrong understanding surrounds him, even in the so called christian west. If you really want to understand what i meant by it, you have to read something about the early christianity, the history of early christian church, Gnostic Gospels, Gospel of Mary Magdalene and also Dead Sea Scrolls.
early christianity is the only true form of christianity, i believe.
ReplyDeleteKings and the Church started adding and deleting stuff from the bible and the true teachings of the bible have been lost !
I mean .. did Christ really call God, Father?
Beloved Nabeel,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visits and comments.
Yes it was very natural for Christ to call God, father. In Old Testament (Jesus had a very good understanding of Old Testament teachings) the term son of God is a general term used to mean human being.
And Jesus, not having any biological father, didn't feel any objection calling God father. And when he was challenged by rabbis, he pointed out to Old Testamnet where all human race is called son of God. and thus all men are even called gods (with small g).
So, its true he called God father and there is no harm. We can call God father, or mother. After all, He has all the compassionate and loving qualities in Him more than any father and mother.
