Sufi Wisdom and Quotes (3)

"My heart has become capable of every form; it is a pasture for gazelles and a convent for Christian monks, and a temple for idols and the pilgrim's Ka'ba, and the tablets of the Torah and the book of the Koran. I follow the religion of Love: whatever way Love's camels take, that is my religion and my faith."

  1. Can you post some about what Sufi really is? I mean, I read the wikipedia entry, but I'm still not smarter.

What does it mean for you? Is it a faith? Is this kind of a successor to Islam? Or how does it fit in the entire religous cosmos?

    Best,

sufism in my understanding is the praise and worship of the divine. A few of the forms are, poetry, architecture, music and dance.
The conventional form of islam is more a code of conduct for society and a way of life. It is the intellecual part of the faith, while sufism is the emotional aspect.
Sufism is born of faith. It works on the heart chakra.
The conventional teachings of islam are as essential to mainting balance.
I think most religions under their stoic garb show signs of praise.
