Many non muslims are not aware of the purity of God concept in the religion of Islam (the word "Islam" means submission to the will of God). Here is a nice article that explain the purest idea of God than any other world religion. It is the most pure form of Monotheism, since no association or misinterpretation had/has been allowed to the idea of Holy God. A verse from Quran (42:11) on this issue, 'nothing is like a likeness of Him'. Here, so transcendent is the Divine Being Idea; and so far above all material conceptions, that a likeness of Him can not be imagined, even metaphorically, for not only is nothing like Him, but, as stated here, nothing is like a likeness of Him.
